The Capitol Groove Festival has announced that its planned 2026 edition will no longer go ahead, with organisers confirming the event has been postponed until 2027. The boutique Connecticut festival had been scheduled to return to Bushnell Park in Hartford from 27th - 28th June, 2026, but cited scheduling challenges as the reason behind the difficult decision.

In a statement shared with fans, organisers thanked the “Cap Groove family” for supporting the festival through its first two years, highlighting the community that quickly formed around the event since its debut in 2024. Presented by GoodWorks Entertainment, the festival became a standout summer fixture in Hartford, bringing eclectic lineups and a relaxed city-park atmosphere to the heart of downtown.

The most recent edition in 2025 featured a diverse lineup led by Khruangbin, Thundercat and Bleachers. Other performers included Cake, Steel Pulse, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Fantastic Negrito, reflecting the festival’s mix of soul, funk, indie and reggae.

Organisers confirmed that refunds for 2026 tickets are currently being processed and should be completed within two weeks. While fans will have to wait another year for the event’s return, the team says it is already looking ahead to bringing Capitol Groove back to Bushnell Park in 2027.

The Capitol Groove Festival postpones its planned 27th - 28th June, 2026 return to Bushnell Park in Hartford, confirming the event will now take place in 2027.

The Capitol Groove has officially released the set times for its 2025 edition, set to take over Bushnell Park in Hartford, Connecticut on June 28 and 29. Now entering another year of celebration, the two-day festival returns with a diverse mix of soul, funk, indie, and alternative sounds that promise to bring nonstop energy to the heart of the city.

Saturday’s schedule is led by genre-defying trio Khruangbin, alongside performances from Thundercat, Ripe, and The Greeting Committee. Fans can also catch sets from Fantastic Negrito, Ghost Funk Orchestra, and the vibrant Improvement Movement, with music spread across multiple stages throughout the day.

Sunday keeps the momentum going with alt-rock icons Bleachers and Cake headlining the closing night. Steel Pulse brings their legendary reggae roots to the lineup, while Thee Sacred Souls, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, and Sammy Rae & The Friends round out a soulful and high-energy day of music.
