You & Me Fest Cancels Inaugural Event Due to Multiple Challenges

The highly anticipated debut of You & Me Fest in Perth has been cancelled, with organisers citing the withdrawal of a key international headliner, low ticket sales, and rising insurance costs as the primary reasons.

Scheduled to take place over three days from December 29 to 31, 2024, the festival was set to feature a star-studded line-up including Soulja Boy, Ruel, Hayden James, Golden Features (DJ Set), The Veronicas, The Temper Trap, and many more. Alongside live music, You & Me Fest had promised a diverse range of creative activities such as art installations, market stalls, carnival rides, and tattoo stations.

In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram, festival Founder and Director Bailey Chalmers expressed disappointment, stating, “I explored every possible avenue for the festival to go ahead, but unfortunately, it was just not feasible.” Chalmers urged fans to continue supporting Australian festivals and live music, warning that without ongoing support, the industry could suffer further losses.

Chalmers revealed that an unnamed international headliner’s inability to enter the country forced the cancellation, creating difficulties in delivering the advertised experience. Ticket holders will receive full refunds through Humanitix and Tixel.
