Field Day has lifted the lid on its long-teased mystery headliner for 2027, confirming Newcastle-born producer and global dance music tastemaker Mall Grab as the final piece of what is shaping up to be one of the Sydney festival's most exciting New Year's Day editions yet. He joins Major Lazer, returning to Australian stages for the first time in 11 years, and UK drum and bass heavyweight Sub Focus, completing a formidable three-headliner bill at The Domain, Gadigal Country, on Friday 1st January, 2027.
Mall Grab has spent the better part of a decade cementing himself as one of the most distinctive voices in tech-house and contemporary rave music. Breaking through in 2015 with debut EP Feel U, he pushed into the global consciousness with "Liverpool Street in the Rain" (2018) before crossing into unexpected territory with a collaborative EP alongside Turnstile's Brendan Yates in 2020. His critically acclaimed debut album What I Breathe, released in 2022 via his own Looking For Trouble imprint, earned an 8/10 from The Line of Best Fit and broad support from NME, DIY, and Resident Advisor, spotlighting club standout "Love Reigns".
More recently, Mall Grab has kept momentum with singles "Everything" (2023) and "iluv" (2024), the latter a collaboration with now-wife Effy. The pair also made a significant mark on home soil through their multi-artist event series Fragrance, which sold out Sydney's Carriageworks in its Australian debut, underlining the demand for their vision of cutting-edge electronic music locally. At Field Day 2027, Mall Grab takes his place atop the Centre Field stage alongside a sprawling supporting lineup that includes Andy C, Boys Noize, Elderbrook, Hannah Laing, Funk Tribu, and many more across three stages.

Presented by Fuzzy, who are celebrating 30 years of shaping Australian live music in 2027, Field Day has welcomed more than half a million attendees to The Domain across its storied history, counting RÜFÜS DU SOL, Disclosure, Tame Impala, Flume, and Dom Dolla among its alumni. With Mall Grab now confirmed and tickets on sale, the 2027 edition is a landmark moment for both the festival and for Australian dance music more broadly.
