Australia’s first heavy metal cruise is officially setting sail once again, with Hellbound II locked in for 17th - 21st January, 2027 aboard the Carnival Splendor. Following an astonishing sell-out of the inaugural voyage in under ten minutes, organisers have confirmed the floating festival will return bigger, louder and even harder after overwhelming demand from metal fans nationwide.
Promoters Choose Your Cruise revealed the sequel comes off the back of their fastest-selling event in 15 years, with Hellbound’s debut cruise scheduled for October, 2026. Designed as a fully immersive heavy music experience at sea, Hellbound blends live performances, themed events and close-quarters artist interactions into one unapologetically metal getaway.
The first voyage turned heads with a stacked Australian lineup headlined by Parkway Drive, alongside Polaris, Northlane, The Butterfly Effect, Make Them Suffer, In Hearts Wake, Windwaker, Ocean Sleeper and Future Static. Bands performed across multiple stages, including a custom-built pool deck setup, transforming international waters into a full-scale floating moshpit.
While the Hellbound II lineup will be unveiled on Monday 2nd February, the 2027 cruise will once again feature multiple stages, immersive themed nights, artist-hosted activities and a port stop at Tangalooma for dolphin feeding, snorkelling and sand tobogganing. Presale kicks off Wednesday 4th February, with general sales following Thursday 5th February, and if history is any guide, cabins will disappear fast.
