Groovin The Moo will make a highly anticipated return on 9th May, 2026, staging a one-off regional show in Lismore, New South Wales as part of Great Southern Nights. After a two-year hiatus, the beloved touring festival will take over Oakes Oval on Widjabul/Wia-bal Country for a single-day, single-stage, all-ages event, marking what organisers describe as a deliberate and considered comeback.
Founded in 2005, Groovin The Moo built its legacy by bringing major contemporary lineups to regional communities, becoming a rite of passage for Australian music fans. The 2026 edition signals a new chapter following the 2024 cancellation and a fallow 2025, with promoters focusing on a sustainable long-term model while honouring the festival’s regional roots and cultural impact.
Presented by Great Southern Nights with support from the NSW Government through Destination NSW and in partnership with ARIA, the Lismore event aims to deliver both economic and cultural benefits to the Northern Rivers. Organisers confirmed the lineup and ticketing details will be revealed in the coming weeks, with pre-sale registration now open.
Groovin The Moo’s return also carries a strong community focus, partnering with local charity Our Kids and donating $2 from every ticket sold. With its reputation for championing emerging Australian talent alongside international heavyweights, the festival’s comeback is poised to reignite regional live music while reinforcing New South Wales as a powerhouse for world-class events.
